For longer term remediation efforts, Web has expertise in a variety of clean-up procedures (pump & treat, vacuum extraction/air sparging, air stripping, etc.), however, of significant importance is our use of bioremediation techniques to deal with all types of organic contamination in soil, water, and groundwater. Web's engineers have found that the application of microbes, oxygenated water, and nutrients (bio-augmentation) provide an extremely cost effective solution compared to more traditional off-site soil batching, landfilling, or pump and treat technologies. In addition, off-site disposal brings the risk of further liability.

"In-situ Bioremediation"

Bioremediation also offers greater flexibility in treating those sites that have access or large scale-low level contamination problems. Wetland contamination can now be treated with microbes without disturbing sensitive areas. In addition, contamination in soil/groundwater under buildings can be treated with limited drilling and/or construction type impacts. Web's engineers have treated many sites where contamination has been located under structures without having to "break concrete". This "in-situ" treatment approach saves thousands of dollars and avoids destruction of personal property. |
